Foothill Homestead Photos

Welcome to Grounded Trowel’s Garden & Harvest gallery. We built this space so you can watch our land grow along with us. This is where we document our progress as we work to bring this land to life. We will be sharing photos of our fruit trees, berry and grape vines, vegetable and herb beds, flowers, and the wild-foraged plants we harvest. We will also be posting pictures of our daily harvests so you can see the direct results of what it actually takes to turn dry, rocky soil into a productive homestead.

We will be adding photos of the beautiful soaps, deodorants, salves, tinctures, and balms etc... All made by hand right here on the homestead!

This gallery will showcase how our homestead is growing. These are all photos from 2025 for now. I will be adding more recent photos and I will side by side older photos with more recent photos of the same areas. Coming soon!

I prefer to DIY everything that I can and use what is available to me before I have to buy things. I have also realized that building systems is the only way that this type of life can be sustainable. This gallery will be photos of my DIY projects and systems. Coming Soon!

Making healthy meals and preserving our harvests are big parts of our homesteading routine. Here we will be showing photos of our meals, food preservation techniques, and some fermenting foods and drinks. We have been making fermented food and drinks like Kombucha, Ginger bugs, Milk Kefir, Yogurt, Lacto fermented pickles, Kimchi and Sourdough breads. We have been pickling cucumbers and other vegetables. We have been preserving some of our harvests by freezing and will begin canning very soon. You can see them all here! Coming Soon!
